Healing Goes Beyond Treatment
Cancer care is about more than treating disease. It is about caring for the whole person by creating an experience that supports patients and families with compassion, dignity, and hope from diagnosis through recovery.
St. Elizabeth Healthcare envisioned a new model for cancer care in Northern Kentucky, one that would bring clinical expertise, wellness, education, and family support together in a single destination. Building on decades of collaboration with the health system, Champlin Studios joined HGA and St. Elizabeth to help transform that vision into a six-story Cancer Center on the Edgewood campus.
The new facility consolidates screening, diagnosis, treatment, infusion, and supportive services under one roof, creating a more connected experience for patients while strengthening collaboration among multidisciplinary care teams.
Every aspect of the building was shaped around the human experience of care. Patients and families helped inform the design, leading to spaces filled with daylight, natural materials, intuitive wayfinding, and views to healing gardens that create a sense of calm. Whole-person care extends beyond clinical treatment through spaces dedicated to wellness, education, art and music therapy, yoga, nutrition, and support services. Flexible planning also allows the center to adapt as patient needs and models of care continue to evolve.
More than a place for treatment, the Cancer Center reflects St. Elizabeth’s commitment to caring for the whole person. It creates an environment where clinical excellence, compassion, and collaboration come together to improve the experience of care for patients, families, and the communities they serve.
